Census 2011 of Udaipur District of Rajasthan

Udaipur District Population 2011
In 2011, Udaipur had population of 3,068,420 of which male and female were 1,566,801 and 1,501,619 respectively. In 2001 census, Udaipur had a population of 2,480,657 of which males were 1,259,170 and remaining 1,221,487 were females. Udaipur District population constituted 4.48 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Udaipur District was at 4.39 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 23.69 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Udaipur District recorded increase of 24.27 percent to its population compared to 1991. 



Udaipur District Density 2011
The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that density of Udaipur district for 2011 is 262 people per sq. km. In 2001, Udaipur district density was at 196 people per sq. km. Udaipur district administers 11,724 square kilometers of areas. 



Udaipur Literacy Rate 2011
Average literacy rate of Udaipur in 2011 were 61.82 compared to 59.77 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 74.74 and 48.45 respectively. For 2001 census, same figures stood at 74.66 and 44.49 in Udaipur District. Total literate in Udaipur District were 1,582,629 of which male and female were 973,444 and 609,185 respectively. In 2001, Udaipur District had 1,209,063 in its district. 



Udaipur Sex Ratio 2011
With regards to Sex Ratio in Udaipur, it stood at 958 per 1000 male compared to 2001 census figure of 970. The average national sex ratio in India is 940 as per latest reports of Census 2011 Directorate. In 2011 census, child sex ratio is 924 girls per 1000 boys compared to figure of 947 girls per 1000 boys of 2001 census data. 



Udaipur Child Population 2011

In census enumeration, data regarding child under 0-6 age were also collected for all districts including Udaipur. There were total 508,550 children under age of 0-6 against 457,533 of 2001 census. Of total 508,550 male and female were 264,321 and 244,229 respectively. Child Sex Ratio as per census 2011 was 924 compared to 947 of census 2001. In 2011, Children under 0-6 formed 16.57 percent of Udaipur District compared to 18.44 percent of 2001. There was net change of -1.87 percent in this compared to previous census of India.

Udaipur District Urban Population 2011
Out of the total Udaipur population for 2011 census, 19.83 percent lives in urban regions of district. In total 608,426 people lives in urban areas of which males are 315,485 and females are 292,941. Sex Ratio in urban region of Udaipur district is 929 as per 2011 census data. Similarly child sex ratio in Udaipur district was 865 in 2011 census. Child population (0-6) in urban region was 67,068 of which males and females were 35,952 and 31,116. This child population figure of Udaipur district is 11.40 % of total urban population. Average literacy rate in Udaipur district as per census 2011 is 87.52 % of which males and females are 93.39 % and 81.24 % literates respectively. In actual number 473,783 people are literate in urban region of which males and females are 261,065 and 212,718 respectively.

As per 2011 census, 80.17 % population of Udaipur districts lives in rural areas of villages. The total Udaipur district population living in rural areas is 2,459,994 of which males and females are 1,251,316 and 1,208,678 respectively. In rural areas of Udaipur district, sex ratio is 966 females per 1000 males. If child sex ratio data of Udaipur district is considered, figure is 933 girls per 1000 boys. Child population in the age 0-6 is 441,482 in rural areas of which males were 228,369 and females were 213,113. The child population comprises 18.25 % of total rural population of Udaipur district. Literacy rate in rural areas of Udaipur district is 54.93 % as per census data 2011. Gender wise, male and female literacy stood at 69.64 and 39.82 percent respectively. In total, 1,108,846 people were literate of which males and females were 712,379 and 396,467 respectively.
